Resume Executive Summary

A Resume Executive Summary is an opportunity to give a concise overview of your career and accomplishments. It will contain the primary contact information for prospective employers and will probably also include your contact information and personal details. While it does not contain all of your career experiences or education, it should be enough to get your application in the door.

It is important to understand that the type of executive summary you use to create your resume is different from the one you use to create cover letters and to interview for jobs. While resumes are prepared in a similar way, they are separate documents. A resume is your representation to potential employers as to what skills and qualifications you have and how those skills and qualifications to help make you the best candidate for the job. The resume covers the same points, but covers them in a different format, in a different language.

In your executive summary, you present your contact information in a way that is easy for potential employers to find. You must always give your direct telephone number, your mailing address, and your email address. In addition, you should provide your location, contact person, and your work history at your current place of employment. A good resume executive summary should contain a short paragraph that briefly summarizes the job you want, and then mention the job you are currently seeking.

Your resume executive summary should be written in your native language. This will ensure that it is received properly by potential employers. When people read your resume in their native language, they will know exactly what your objective is and will understand the purpose for your information. If you write your summary in English, they may not recognize your objectives or how they relate to the position you are seeking.

Although it is a good idea to write your executive summary in your native language, you should not do this because your recruiter will prefer it. The reason he or she prefers it is because the other methods you may have available for presenting your information are not effective for English language. English is not your first language, and so they may not understand what you are trying to convey. A recruiter needs to understand the language you speak in order to communicate effectively with you. In addition, it makes it easier for him or her to conduct the interview if they can understand your objectives.

You should not write your executive summary in English with your resume. When the recruiter sees your summary in English, you are explaining why you are applying for the position and not explaining why you are right for the job. If you present your objective and detailed resume in English, the recruiter will know what you are looking for and will know what they should expect from you. Although this may be counter-intuitive, in English it is easier to express your objectives than it is in another language. When you present it in English, it is less confusing for them.

Keep in mind that you may be presenting your executive summary in two different languages – English and another language. To keep your resume in one of those languages intact, it is a good idea to write it in one of those languages.

One reason why it is smart to use professional resume writers, and not to copy and paste from one document to another, is that your resume is not a real business card. A real card communicates your goal and can be referred to in other written communications.
