Animators Resume

It is important to prepare a well-formatted animators resume. If you haven’t designed the animators resume yet, you are missing out on some big opportunities because you won’t be applying for a position that has something unique about it. Here is what you need to know when you are designing your resume:

You are not just an animation student. You need to understand that you must apply to animation jobs that are actually available in the industry. Without this, your resume is nothing more than a glorified cover letter.

After completing an animation school, it is also important to look into the industry to see how others were hired by studios and the different jobs they held. This is a good way to figure out how you would fare if you were to apply for a position and also find out what sort of things they are looking for in animators.

If you have interned at animation studios, you are already way ahead of the game. Internships do work as learning experiences because the studio’s employees don’t see you as an employee until you have been working there for a while. Being able to show off your versatility to companies in this way will really impress them.

You may also be able to take on a new animation job when you go to college. For this reason, it is best to get ready for your application before going to school to avoid having to redo your animation resumes at the last minute.

Since you are submitting a resume, it should make it easy for the hiring manager to quickly understand who you are and what you can do for the company. Making the contact and having a business card and a current resume that shows off your artwork is all you need to give. Most companies use this method when they are trying to hire for positions such as script writer, character designer, or background artist.

If you have experience working on film or animation movies, your resume should not only mention it but also provide proof. They are going to want to see it for themselves before hiring you. And if they don’t see it, they aren’t going to think you are the right person for the job.

Finally, if you don’t have any information regarding what types of animation schools you have attended, you should have them obtain one from your current resume. It shows that you took care of this information because you want to learn more about yourself. If they cannot provide this information, they aren’t going to consider you a good candidate for an animation position and they will likely pass you over.
