Engineering Student Resume

A student’s first job is usually an engineering student resume. Since these people are, in the main, engineers, they need to put their best foot forward. It is for this reason that most employers will pick up a student resume.

The majority of engineering students start out as interns or apprentices. An engineer will see that any sort of resume can be improved upon when it comes to being a student, but they should definitely try to make their engineering student resume as good as possible.

The very first thing to be on your formal engineering student resume is your first name and contact information. You should always have contact information at least as far back as high school.

In the past, students would just put their name as “Engineering Student” in their full name. This is no longer the case. An employer would be better off to know where you went to school.

A way better than “school.” If you can get a phone number or email address, you can use that. You should try to take note of anything at all that can identify you as an engineering student.

Next you should have your email address, which you’ll probably use to send emails. It’s a good idea to make sure that the email address matches with your school. It’s not going to hurt to check it though.

Another thing you should do is create a “What’s My Resume Address?” page. This page is going to tell your employer where you work, so don’t leave it blank, and list your place of employment.

Spelling and grammar are important, but you’ll be doing the application anyway, so you might as well put in a little extra effort. Most colleges won’t check a resume if it is less than a year old. However, your only other option is to get a more recent copy and check it for errors.
