Nursing Student Resume

There are some things you should never include in your nursing student resume. Some of these things may seem really silly to you at first, but keep reading and you will be amazed by the amount of people who fail to do so.

One of the first things you need to be sure to tell them is that they have no medical experience. Yes, you know, the one that doctors use in order to get a job. Keep this in mind when you are writing your resume.

Even if you have some prior medical experience, chances are it is not very good. Most students that go to school to be nurses must have some type of training before they can get a job. However, this is not the same as having any real or verifiable training.

As a matter of fact, most professional nurses do not have any experience before they get their license. Most of them only have months of experience and no more than a year. If you have spent your entire life just learning how to take x-rays and such, then you will have absolutely nothing to show for it when you graduate.

Some of the other common mistakes that students make with their resumes include not including the school they attended, or the state where they received their certification. Some people only send their school information on their resumes. While you may think this will help you get the job, it will actually hurt you.

Instead of sending in information about how many months you attended nursing school, include information about how many months you spent working as a Medical Assistant School for several different schools. This way, you can get two years of education from one school and have it show on your resume as well.

Doctors usually take the names of graduates and colleges of the nurses that they hire. Make sure that you also do this. You do not want your name to be on the job ads for other people’s nurses.

Having a great resume is the most important thing that you can do for yourself as a nurse. If you don’t include everything that you need to, you won’t be able to impress your potential employers, and will end up not getting a job.
