Dear Mr. Lecroy,

I know that you are looking for a qualified and experienced Coach for your school, York Middle School. As I have heard great things about your school’s athletic department, and have the experience you seek; I write to introduce myself in regards to this position. I have included my resume with cover letter.

As you can see by my resume, I have worked as a Coach for the past 11 years at Kamehameha School coaching a variety of sports to include football, soccer, and basketball. I also have coached a summer program camp for baseball for the past four years with much success. I obtained my degree in Recreation Management from Coastal Carolina University in 1986 because of my lifelong love for physical fitness and sports of all kinds. This is why I chose the career as Coach. The reason why I am considering your position at York Middle School is that I am looking for new challenges, as well as a better facility for various sports. My research has shown me that you have some of the best facilities in the state, and I would be a great match for this success.
