Subject: Application for position of Art Director

Dear Ms. Casares,

I wish to apply for the position of Art Director as advertised. I have the necessary skills and qualifications for this post, as well as the necessary experience. I therefore believe that what I have to offer to International Arts will be of great benefit to the company.

I hold a B.A in Fine Arts from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY. I also have extensive experience working as an Art Director in several different organizations, both in print advertising and in television advertising.

I am completely computer literate and I have an excellent working knowledge of all the industry standard computer programs normally used in this type of work. I am also familiar with, and have experience working in, all other aspects of the post.

I have directed a number of advertisements that have appears on both local and national TV. I have directed plays for both stage and television. I have overseen print advertising for several important publications, both for newspapers and magazines.

Not only do I have a passion for the arts, but I find I am fully able to express through advertising media and through directing actors, my interpretation of how I feel any given situation needs to be expressed.

I feel sure that my proven ability to manage and maintain the highest standards as an Art Director will be of the greatest benefit to International Arts and I have confidence that I can make a significant contribution to the company.
